Couples Counselling with Lynfa
I obtained by diplomas from Writtle University College and the Open College. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked in real estate, insurance and in the law, I spent 10 years working for a large international law firm in London. I am also a residential landlord and work with university students at Anglia Ruskin University in Essex. I am married with three grown up children and 2 grandchildren.
I believe my work and life experience have given me a better insight and empathy for what my clients are going through.
I am a very open minded, non-judgmental person. I am very easy to get along with and clients tell me they feel very relaxed as I put them at ease from our first meeting.
I trained to become psychosexual therapist because whilst training to become a psychotherapist I encountered a lot of client in the BDSM community, who were struggling to find a suitable therapist who didnt judge them on their lifestyle or sexuality choices.
My philosophy as regards therapy is that everyone should have the opportunity to experience it. By giving clients the platform to feel able to discuss their issues openly with someone who is unbiased and neutral to their situation is a liberating and hopefully healing environment.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your issues.
Experience
I have my own private practice in Chelmsford, Essex where I see clients face to face but I have been seeing clients online since 2020. This started due to the pandemic when I offered my services as a volunteer mental health practitioner with a online company called Project 5 who were set up to offer counselling to those frontline workers in the NHS; it was later to include care home workers and anyone who had been affected by Covid.
I work as a counsellor on several online platforms and have done so since the end of the pandemic.
I offer an integrated approach to counselling ie I use a wide range of therapies to help my clients with their individual needs as they progress through their sessions.
I qualified as a hypnotherapist in 2016 and offer hypnotherapy not only to help clients with their fears, phobias and bad habits, but also with anxiety, confidence and self esteem, as well as sexual issues such as frigidity, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and lack of sexual desire.
